Curious ay? Well, curiosity suits you. We are always looking for new curious humans that truly care about making a difference in health.
Our crew operates on a national level, delivering health with more care right across this country. Our head office is in Wellington, but because we want the best crew for this expedition, location and other details don’t get in the way of who we bring on board.
If you have any questions, or want to talk with us, hit us up!
With precision and purpose, we dissect outdated systems and structures, reimagining and reshaping them with people at the heart of our work. We are committed to delivering healthcare with more care, ensuring that every patient’s needs are our priority.
No more jumping through hoops, running in circles, or being passed between practitioners like a hot potato. We are here to lead the way—charting new, clear, and accessible pathways to care. Pathways that ensure our patients receive the care they need—without the barriers.
Our goal is to provide the human experience we all seek: true healthcare for humans. We listen, we learn, and we challenge the status quo to ensure that care is centered on each individual’s needs.
I have worked for Magma for over 3 years. I love working here due to many factors. The team I work with are amazing; everyone is dedicated and focussed on how best to help the women accessing our services.
I love the fact that we can provide the tools for women to make informed decisions. We are so lucky in New Zealand that we have the option to do this, and that Magma are helping them to do so. We have a great management team who are always available to discuss issues and help resolve them. The most important part of this is that they are accessible.
And I have the best boss ever. She is hard working, patient and epitomises the values of Magma.
Working in abortion care can be an awkward conversation when someone asks, “what do you do for a living?” But I have always seen this as an opportunity to bust myths and educate! I am a proud magma nurse and find this role so much more rewarding than I had ever expected. We are supporting people through what may be their darkest days and have an incredible amount of privilege to walk alongside our patients. We pride ourselves on being non-judgemental, open, and kind. My ultimate goal working for magma is to care for every patient as if they were my own friend or sister and ensure our patients know we have their backs 110%. This really is a role filled with compassion and empowerment, enabling people to freely make the best decision for themselves. The gratitude shown by patients for changing their expectations of abortion care is what makes this job worth it. We are not here to make this decision or process hard, but instead make it a supported and accessible journey, one day at a time, together.
Being part of the team that serves as the first point of contact for our clients is a privilege, especially during their most challenging times. Women’s health holds significant importance for me, and being able to help women in diverse ways in this field is truly fulfilling. Over my 18months with the company, I’ve found it incredibly rewarding, and I eagerly anticipate many more years aiding our clients. The teamwork among our dedicated staff is what makes our service exceptional, as we strive to provide comprehensive care to those we serve.
At our company, women truly come first, and I am grateful every day to be part of a team that prioritizes their well-being above all else. The environment here is not just open and welcoming; it’s nurturing and empowering. We foster a culture where every woman’s voice is heard, where support is abundant, and where innovation in abortion care is leading the way. It’s more than a job—it’s a mission that resonates deeply with me. I feel incredibly fortunate to contribute to such meaningful work, helping to shape the future of women’s health in a company that values compassion, progress, and the fundamental rights of all women.
I’ve now been working for Magma for four years, I was lucky enough to be offered a role during the pandemic which meant I could work from home. This was a great opportunity for me along with the added bonus of being able to spend more time at home with my fur baby Poppy. I really enjoy interacting with the different clients, whether it’s providing information, offering advice, or just engaging in conversation, being able to make a positive impact on their Magma experience is incredibly rewarding.
I love being part of the Magma team because of the passion everyone has for the services we offer and the fact that we all want to make sure everyone’s experience is the best and it is. My initial role with Magma was answering calls and booking men into the SNIP clinic. Now I am part of the Executive Leadership team, and how lucky am I to be working within such a supportive organisation. In my time away from the office I like to think I am a wine connoisseur but I am not, I just like sitting in the sun and drinking it 😂
To feel like I can make a difference, to empower women with the knowledge to choose and control what is right for them. My work colleagues are very supportive, caring, and passionate about what they do, my work is meaningful, and together it is a team effort. I am very fortunate to work alongside a great team.
The team here at Magma are like a family, they bend over backwards to support one another and also the patients.
It’s is a very patient centred, its a wrap around service, so we look at the person as a whole and offer safe, efficient care and support to meet their needs.
Magma thinks outside the box and adjust their service to meet the needs of the community.
Magma inspires for growth within our work family and what they can do for the people.
Feels like Home. And I am very proud to be apart of it all.
I feel the consults over the phone and ongoing support give women the choice to connect with a health care professional in their safe place. I have consulted with women who are alone walking down the beach in the space they feel safe and women who are surrounded by their support people at home. The intimacy of these calls can be incredibly close, raw and honest.
I feel passionate about women to have access to good medical information and the ability and support to make decisions that are best for their own physical/emotional/ family wellbeing.
Even if there are no crew positions available, we are always on the lookout for Aotearoa’s finest talent and welcome expressions of interest. If you would like to get on our books, hit us up and send us your CV.
